The spookiest month of the year has finally arrived and everyone is buying costumes and decorations to prepare for one of the biggest holidays of the year; Halloween. As we get closer to Halloween people in our community have come together to create events to celebrate the holiday. Bourbon County has a multitude of Halloween events that anyone outside or inside the community can enjoy. Some of those events include a haunted house held at our very own Bourbon County High School, Spookfest, Trunk or Treat, and so much more!
On October 29, 2023, The BCHS Art Club will be holding a chilling event called “Spookfest” which will take place at Bourbon County High School. This event will include food, music, and games such as a costume contest, a haunted house, and pumpkin-pie an admin. This event is family friendly meaning it’s perfect to have a thrilling time with friends and family. Everyone is just dying to visit the haunted house, it is an entertaining interactive experience made for anyone to enjoy. The halls of BCHS will be filled with haunting classrooms, decorated to spook anyone who dares to enter. Each classroom will be individually decorated by volunteer students who will provide you with a spooktacular fright. Tickets for Spookfest will be sold at the door. Make sure you don’t miss out on these haunting activities!
Another Halloween event in Bourbon County is the Spooktacular Trunk or Treat on October 28, 2023. This event involves many volunteers who simply want to provide a fun Halloween experience for trick-or-treaters. There is also a fun theme; Deceased Celebrities/Hollywood. The Trunk or Treat is perfect for any kid or parent who loves candy and the spirit of Halloween. It will be held at the Bourbon County Courthouse from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Don’t forget to bring your friends and family for some trunk-or-treating fun!
